【プロジェクト・キックオフ・ミーティング】
パプアニューギニア（PNG）の山岳地域の母子保健サービス改善プロジェクトが、2026年3月30日に正式に開始されました。
キックオフ・ミーティングは、リビトー・ホテル（Ribito Hotel）にて開催され、エンガ州保健局職員、ライアガム（Laiagam）郡の診療所の責任者、各コミュニティの代表をはじめ、多くの関係者が出席しました。
また、同日にHANDS PNGとエンガ州保健局の間でMOU（活動の合意書）への署名が行われています。
会議の終了後には2025年にYango 地域とKepelam 地域に建設した”お産を待つ家”の見学会を行い、その運営状況を参加者同士で確認しました。
プロジェクトの全体目標は、ライアガム郡における女性の健康と社会的地位を向上させることです。本プロジェクトでは、ライアガム郡のVHA（村落保健アシスタント）の研修および「お産を待つ家」の建設を目指しています。
2014年以来、HANDS PNGはエンガ州ライガム郡で地域の人々に保健に関する研修とサービスを提供しています。
2026年からも母子保健サービス改善ため保健局と力を合わせて、保健医療施設から離れた地域に住む女性が安心して出産できる環境を整えていきます。
【Project Kick-off Meeting】
The project on improving maternal and child health services in the highlands region of PNG was officially started last March 30, 2026.
A kick-off meeting was held at the Ribito Hotel, attended by Enga Provincial Health Authority (PHA) officers, officers in charge of health facilities in Laiagam district, and chairmen of each community, among all others.
On the same day, an MOU was signed between HANDS PNG and the Enga PHA.
After the meeting, a site visit to the “Waiting House for delivery” constructed in the Yango and Kepelam areas in 2025 was held, and the participants checked their operational status together.
The overall goal of the project is to improve the health and social status of women in Laiagam district. The project aims to train VHAs and construct Maternal Waiting Houses for delivery.
Since 2014, HANDS PNG has been providing health training and services to the local people in Laiagam district, Enga province.
From 2026, we will continue to work together with the PHA to improve maternal and child health services. We will create an environment where women living in areas far from health facilities can give birth with peace of mind.
