パプアニューギニア事業：ポリオワクチン接種キャンペーン

パプアニューギニアでは、ポリオの再発が確認されたことを受け、2025年10月頃から全国規模のポリオ追加接種キャンペーンが実施されています。各医療機関が連携して、各コミュニティで追加接種と啓発を進めています。
このキャンペーンにおいて、HANDSが研修を行ったVHA（Village Health Assistant：村落保健アシスタント）が、エンガ州ライガム郡の各地域で活動に協力しました。
VHAたちは、保健医療施設まで通うことが難しい地域にあるコミュニティでの声かけを通じて、追加接種の案内、ポリオ予防の啓発など、地域の子どもたちの健康を守るために貢献してくれました。
HANDS PNGは、今後も現地の保健スタッフや地域の人々と協力しながら、安全で健康な暮らしを支える活動を続けていきます。

【Polio Vaccination Campaign】
In Papua New Guinea, following the confirmation of polio re-emergence, a nationwide supplementary polio vaccination campaign has been carried out since around October 2025. Health facilities across the country have been working together to provide additional vaccination and raise awareness in each community.
In this campaign, the Village Health Assistants (VHA) trained by HANDS supported activities in various areas of Laiagam District, Enga Province.
The VHAs contributed by reaching out to communities where it is difficult for people to access health facilities, guiding them about the supplementary vaccination and raising awareness on polio prevention to protect the health of local children.
HANDS PNG will continue working together with local health staff and community members to support safe and healthy lives.
