HANDS is a non-profit organization that endeavors to create a healthy and prosperous global community through international cooperation in public health.
HANDS partners include other non-profit organizations worldwide that share a common interest in global health, as well as with governments and international organizations. We improve healthcare systems at a regional or at a country level and support the development of a sustainable management for these systems while being sensitive to the unique environment and culture of these regions.
We believe in the importance of collaboration with skilled professionals inside and outside of Japan as well as using our knowledge and expertise to train and develop young professionals who will lead these missions into the next generation.
HANDS prioritizes long-term projects that involve partnerships with people in the community and advocates for the need of sustainable and consistent cooperation in international health to the government and to the general public. We also regard it as our mission to return valuable knowledge and experience gained from the field in international cooperation to the Japanese society through publications, seminars, and other educational programs.
Through these collective efforts, HANDS is committed to assisting the establishments of self-supporting communities in which individual members have equal access to basic services. We work for the realization of healthy and prosperous global community, hand-in-hand with partners worldwide.
